How we work

How we work
To bring about change in the lives of the poorest people, we need to understand their needs and challenges. We will identify problems and listen to issues. Then we can consider if we can meaningfully address the problems and leave a positive legacy. Our projects will be selected based on achieving the greatest impact and scalability in partnership with like-minded people.

How we make grants
In each of our key areas we have a strategic leader as well as allocation of resources and will collaborate with the recipient grantee and partner organisations to develop a clear plan that aligns with the strategic priorities and the recipient organisations focus and capabilities. We will be clear on inputs and outputs of each project.
Our process for making grants will start with an idea aligned with our strategy to be approved by the Trustees. This is followed by processes for assembling internal resources, identifying suitable partners and deliverers, formalising the investment proposal, managing the grant and evaluating the results on conclusion of the project.

Our scalability
All our projects must pass the test of scalability as we are determined to limited resources to optimal use. This means projects need to be scalable and partners to achieve this aim need to be identified at an early stage.

Global reach
Whilst we are focused in the UK and India during our early development years, we wish to deploy our ideas, initiatives and legacy to a global audience. This will involve building up our pool of Donor and Volunteers as well scaling up the infrastructure of the KM Foundation to manage the charity on a global scale.

Our technology
Use of Technology is key to increasing the reach for our charitable activities and for scaling it up.

Our delivery
Effective use of our charitable funds is of permanent importance to the KM Foundation. Each area and its projects will have a clear plan with milestones and performance indicates assigned. We conduct regular reviews of progress and outcomes achieved.
